HEATHER TAYLOR GRIFFITH, LCSW, CPC
Heather Taylor Griffith's greatest strength is being present with people while creating space for their untapped potential to come to life- the potential they sometimes fail to see in themselves. As a licensed therapist, certified professional coach, and experienced leader, Heather has deep knowledge and understanding of developing leaders, supporting strengths-based teams, navigating complex systems, and maximizing talent in mission-driven organizations. Heather believes that through creating environments of trust and safety, people can be stretched and challenged to accomplish more than they ever thought possible. It’s in these environments that unique strengths, creativity, and innovation come to life, and people accomplish more together than they could on their own.
Growing up as a coal-miner’s daughter in rural southwest Virginia, Heather’s Appalachian roots developed her eye for seeing the potential in people. She grew up in a community that was created and sustained by the unique, authentic, and tacit wisdom and talents of the people who lived there. She saw the giftedness in people that came so naturally to them, even when they didn’t see it themselves. Heather learned how to slow down and attune to people around her. She carried that with her and began to notice her true passion and purpose was to be present with people and create space for them to develop their highest selves through asking curious questions, deep listening, and quiet reflection. What inspired her the most, was the ripple effect that followed– when people experienced this way of being and doing, they were inspired to provide it for others.
Heather completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-NC & TN) and a certified professional coach with over 15 years of experience in direct services, program development, systems collaboration, and state-level leadership. As a coach, consultant, and facilitator, Heather uses a holistic approach to her work with individuals, teams, and organizations to activate their untapped potential, always asking what could be.
